pgl holiday

only 4 days left until we go on our annual holiday. This year we are going on an actitity holiday to hastings which is in devon, lots of walking plus activities such as team building, zip wire, fencing, quad biking, plus we also have a free day so that we can explore the town and do what we like, such as visit the local zoo so much looking forward to having a rest and taking lots of pictures.

School trips

Joe my youngest son is supposed to be going on a school trip, to thorp park after I paid for his trip. Now he has decided after I paid that he does not want to go. I asked him why and he said he does not like fast ride, but he only told us after he made friend with some one from school. Now we think he is only saying he does not want to go after I spoke to Mathew, who told me he is not going to Thorpe park a bit of a coincident. As Joe wanted to go before he made friends with mathew joes dad thinks he is a sheep. Joe breaks up for the summer holidays on Friday then 6 weeks of boredom plus a week in Devon. Oh the joy of school holiday.

New chapter

It has been a while since my last blog, first of all I have signed up to do an open university course which starts in September. But am having problems because when I sent off for financial support they sent it back, now I had to amend it and post it back. Because my husband is self employed and I don't have his self assessment yet which the university say they need to proceeds with my application. This has been going on since first week may, and the closing date is august for the course which does not leave me much time. Rob is coming home from holland on wednesday for a couple of days for his op, and his birthday on Friday. Lastly I am late for my monthly 10 days all I want to do is eat sleep and pee OMG and now I keep getting a sharp pain in my side I know I need to see a doctor but I keep putting it off and I need a pregnancy test.

Hard rock calling

On Saturday me and my friend from work Marie, went to Hyde park to see Bon jovi we got their at about 12 30 and didn't get home until 110. The groups included vintage trouble, lizzie, black cards, ray Davies and not forgetting the brilliant Bon Jovi the atmosphere was absolutely electric, ray Davis sang all his hits including Lola, we got very sunburnt aching leg and feet, but it was all worth every penny. Bon Jovi played for an incredible 3 hours, they must have played most of their hits. My favourite is it's my life, living on a pray, everyday, we had trouble with the trains when we came out of the concert marble arch station was closed so we were all diverted to another station, then when we got on the train our stop was closed. After we got to the next train we missed 3 trains because they were full. By the time we got home we were exhausted. But it was all well worth it brilliant experience.

Hard rock calling

Only a few days left until the concert me and my friend from work are going to see Bon jovi at Hyde park on Saturday hard rock calling. The only thing is I don't know any of the other acts never been to a rock festival before I bet the atmosphere will be great I will write a blog and maybe post some picture after the event on Saturday.

My son

Spoke to rob today on skype, rob was supposed to come home tonight and retake his exam, but the university got his results wrong. He only found out while he was on the train in holland then had to get off, if in wasn't for wifi and his laptop he probably would have had a wasted journey. The university should not have made such a stupid mistake because they told him he failed his exam when he passed not very clever. how many others were told the same thing,

Made some cakes today from my baked and delicious, the only thing is I put to much orange juice in the buttercream, and it was to runny. Now they look a bit messy, better luck next time.

Left home

It has been nearly 2weeks now, since rob moved to holland. Chatted to him on Facebook and he has settled into his new life, started his language course and said he and Elise went to ikea and brought some flat pack furniture. You know the stuff you have to put together yourself I bet that was fun. I think his dad is a bit put out as the only contact we have had is through Facebook not Evan an email from rob to say he is alright we set up skype but not been in touch yet. I understand he is probably quite busy but, hr really should send his dad an email at least try.

Leaving home part 2

It has. Been a strange week this week, Saturday we all went out for a meal to the steamer a pub. Then yesterday I made rob a cake, tomorrow we are having a last meal tomorrow night then he leave at 4am for his new life in holland. Boxes are packed rob has been doing all his good byes this week, hankies at the ready and don't forget the ice-cream comfort food

Leaving home

Only one more week to go until my eldest son Robert moves to the neitherlands. We are all going out on saturday for a Chinese meal and grand parents to for a fond farewell meal. Robert will be missed, but i am sure he will have a good life I know it is a big step espescialy moving to a new country he has worked very hard, and is learning the language so he can get a job. I wish him all the best in his new life in holland, I am sure there will be a few tears shed next Friday when he leaves. His brother on the other hand can't wait as he will have a room all to himself.

My life

Had quite a good week this week, first applied to do an open university course health and social science. Then on Wednesday it was my birthday went to bella italia for lunch, had my favourite dessert, a godfather which comes in a massive glass bowl with chocolate brownie, ice-cream, hot fudge sauce, whipped cream, not to forget the sweets and wafer. After that we went to tesco and brought a very big birthday cake which I ended up getting for free. Came home and played on the play station move a birthday present. Friday got up early and watch the royal wedding, all day what a beautiful bride Katie made her dress was gorgeous, made of lace quite elegant. After the cerimony they went back to the palace and came on to the balcony and kissed which everyone was waiting for, what a lovely couple they are and so genuine, back to work.

My life

I have not done a blog for a while, first of all I went away for a few days. We all went down to Dorset to visit the grand parent as my eldest son robert is moving to the nietherlands in may and it will be the last time they see him for a while. Lee decided to stay at home although we discovered after that he arranged a party when we returned home we discovered the house in a mess his friend trashed the house well as you could imagine we were very annoyed he spent his birthday cleaning. Sugar all over the bedroom floor and on the shelves beer in the fish tank dirty foot print right through the house. I'm not surprised he stayed away for a couple of days stay out of our way. I have also been doing a lot of thinking lately and have applied for a nursing course at our local university, I know it will be hard work but in the end I think it will be rewarding all I have to do is wait for my boss to give me a reference fingers crossed.

My life

Not been sleeping very well lately the other night I was awake most of the night and up at 4,30 in the morning making myself cup it is surprising as I went on twitter to see who is on that time of the morning. Got some nice mothers day presents on Sunday pampering set from rob and box of chocolates and DVD from Joe although he did not buy them Lee nothing as usual but I have learnt not to expect anything as he is on jobseekers allowance. Had to take Joe to dentist today as he may need braces but to his relief he was told come back in a years time. Had a discussion with melvyn this morning as Joe took some sweets from his brothers room he since appologised anyway when a child is naughty or does something wrong I believe that you should punish him for what he has done say, ground him or take something away like pocket money fora couple of days then give him everything back. Forgive and forget then move on because it's no good keep harping on the past but Melvyn does not see it like that if one of our children does something wrong then yes he will ground them or take something off them but it alway seems to go on for weeks some times then they end up repeating the crime. He think I am burying my head in the sand but I have always had a different out look toward the children then he does i see them as vulnerable young people maybe it because I am a carer by profession he sees them as stupid idiots that get on his nerve kids are not naughty 24/7 so why treat them like they are I am making it sound as if he is a monster which is not the case. Heis a good man just can't deal with the kids sometimes.

My life

Today we went to the steamer for a Chinese followed by half a lager shandy. Then we went to the cinema and saw limitless a very good film about a man who is given a pill that can access and use all of his brain and what you do with it the sky is the limit. It also has consequences as taking accesive amounts can kill you. After that came home and played csi on my ps3 then watched tv. This week is parenting week and I have been listening to the radio today it was about divorce and how it can damage your children how to avoid it. Being married myself with 3 children even though 2 of them are grown up and Robert my eldest is about to leave home shortly to start a new life in another country. We all have our ups and downs in life and being a parent is far from easy but as long as you love your children and let them know that they are loved unconditional love and support them no matter what they do in life.

Dentist

Had a dentist appointment today for both me and Joe when we got their I had to fill out a form she said it was for nhs after the treatment I did not have to pay yes free treatment no more costly dentist bills. Poor Joe has to have braces. Now watching one born every minute. Parenting week listening to the radio on discussion on what it is like to be a parent

My life

Yesterday i got up early and made a cake from my Jamie Oliver cook book although I did make a couple of alteration no almond and no poppy seed lemon drizzle cake I brought a baking set rescenly silicon cake moulds found it quite odd as they are very floppy. And quite difficult to remove I used 3 plates and a cooling rack just to get the cake out of the cake mould. Taking it out of the oven I thought I was going to drop it, and the cake stuck to the bottom. Then I had to heat sugar and lemon in a frying pan then prick holes in the cake and pour the syrup over the cake leave to cool then ice the cake with lemon icing taste really nice and moist.after that I spent the afternoon listening to adele what an amazing singer. This morning went to my mums for lunch then came back played on ps3 for a while and made sure Joe did his homework then had pasta and cheese cake for dinner. Now listening to top 40 on radio me and Joe have dentist appointment tomorrow not keen.

My life

Had quite a good day today got up early and went to town did some shopping brought new shoes for work. Brought my mum a really nice money pot for mothers day as she puts her money in a jar, brought a nice picture frame for lees 21st. Had McDonalds went round travel agent picked up some brosures and a new game, came home had pizza. Joe came home from school and said he wanted to change schools said said other kids are picking on him and calling him names tried to to explain that he can't just swap schools their is nothing wrong with the school I've spoken to his teacher.

My life

Oh dear Joe is going to be in so much trouble when he get home, the time is 6pm and he has not come home from school. The school are having a disco this evening and he has been told not to go as he played truant last week, I bet he has gone to his friends their will be trouble when he get home silly boy because he thinks he can do what ever he want consequences. His class is going to thorp park soon you can bet he won't be going.

My life

This morning had to go to the school and talk to joes teacher as he is struggling a bit the weather has been quite warm. Then had to go down to the dump clearing out the loft of unwanted junk went to Morrison played virtual tennis on ps3 now watching ER on sky

Listen to the radio

Sitting here listening to the radio, Tony Blackburn pick of the pops the year 1972 god it takes you back to your youth sweet, David Cassidy, slade, even Gilbert osulivan, it really does take you back to your youth because I have been converted from a radio 1 listener to radio 2 which play a wider range of music. I was a big David Cassidy fan posters on the wall if only you could turn back the clock, just turn on the radio Saturday afternoons and imagine that you are back in the 1970s it's funny how music can do that to you. Then you are back to present day sitting on that sofa. In your dull and uninteresting life, just waiting for the inevitable.

Flying the nest

Reading an article in the newspaper the other day about mothers having to say goodbye as their children leave home to start their new lives which reminded me of my own child who is moving to holland in may. I have been trying not to think about it even though I know it will be here very soon because he is moving so far away, iknow that I still have the Internet facebook skype and ping chat but it is still not the same knowing he is only upstairs and not thousands of miles away. Still I have plenty of tissues ready and tub of ice cream comfort food what would we do with out it.

Recycling

We now have been given new bins for our recycling now we are forced to recycle, spending all morning having to go through all the bins and separate into the three bin. Why do we have to because of saving the planet for the future in millions of years when we are not even going to be here. Now Melvyn and the kids keep asking me what goes in each bin it is starting to be annoying because we now have two bin in our kitchen one for food one for plastic how difficult is that. I thought this was quite a good idea and it save having to keep going out side every time you need to keep going outside to the dustbins why can't we just do what we did before and put all rubbish in one bin.

Kids behaving badly

Yesterday I went to the job fair with my son just to look around, while iwas their I bumped into 2 people from work not a good sign when three people from the same place all want to leave. My tickets for Bon jovi arrived this morning this morning I got a text message from joes school saying he did not register, anyway 5. 40 Joe late yet again asked him if he went to school he said no. Joe and his friend went down the park, while they were down the park they were spotted by two community cops and took them to school. Joe said his teacher had a talk with them, both and he has promised not to do it again. So he had his dinner had a bath then sent to bed. He told me they went to the park after school because they were scared to go home of getting into trouble. Kids will be kids boys will be boys.

My life

I recently had a bit of a crisis my last period was January I missed my last period so a couple of days go I started bleed,as I was sterilised about 7years ago I thought there was no way I could be pregnant even so I still did a test and the test was negative what a relief. I know it is probably due to my age but I still needed to put my mind at rest even the doctors say it's impossible to get pregnant once you have been sterilised but you do here stories of women falling pregnant years later. Today I went training all day diet and nutrition plus challenging behaviour, then having a test at the end brain work. Now at home listening to radio.

My life

It was my wedding anniversary yesterday married 17 years. We went to the cinema and saw I am number 4 quite a good film it made me jump in parts their are some monsters in it but still enjoyed the movie. Found out this morning that Joe has been stealing money from his brother do kids ever learn why do they keep making the same mistakes over and over again. Going to work in a couple of hours, a break for all this tension.

Party

Last night we all went to my niece 30th birthday party, we all had a good night did get to drunk. Saw my great nephew for only the the second time since he was born, took some nice pictures.why is it that children ask are we going yet then when they get their they say time Togo home yet. Funny part was Robert inhaling balloon talking in that squeaky voice it always puts asmi.eon your face, woke up with bad head this morning. Nice to have I lie in no work today.

Wardrobe malfunction

Going to my niece 30th birthday party tonight must have tried on all the dresses I own hate them all, some to tight one looks like it is from the 70s. I hate having to decided what to wear oh to be a woman another dress made me look 4 month pregnant but I am sure it will turn out fine I'm probable making a fuss about nothing.

My life

Spent the morning watching my husband Melvyn rearrange the hifi unit 3 time tnen put them back and reading my heat magazine celebrity gossip don't you just love it. Had lunch spent the afternoon playing mafia 2 on ps3 all afternoon had dinner now watching tv, Joe late home from school again third day in a row in trouble again. Have to be up early tomorrow out all day training in the morning 10.00 til1300 then back to work 2.30 til 21.30. Going to a party on Friday Joanne my niece 30th birthday party let my hair down get drunk it's been along time Saturday wedding anniversary 17 years although we have been together since 1983 seems like a lifetime away now. I was only 19 when we first met now 47 now I am just a grumpy old woman never happy feels like it.

My life

Had to go to work this morning for training, training on food hygiene. We had to listen to someone talk about hygiene for 2hours then do a test brain work and dull. Then come home have lunch played ps3 for a couple of hours have dinner now watching x files battlestar galactic then blue bloods.

A typical day at work start at 7.30 have hand over make sure everyone is ok collect water jugs get residents up washed and dressed. Take them in the dining room for breakfast give out medication take resident to the lounge bath residents make beds make tea and coffee for residents toileting write care plans resident has a fall call 999 fill out accident form. Lunch time take resident into dining room help give out lunch help with medication take resident back to lounge toileting give cold drink write care plans 2.30 go home. Change clothes make tea put feet up watch the oscars

My life

Got up around 10 30 spent the morning listening to Sara cox radio 1, then had minestrone soup for lunch. Spent the afternoon playing mafia2 until Joe and Lee got on my nerves so I turned it off then spent the afternoon listening to the top forty on radio 1 which is something I haven't done for a long time. Going to have muscles in garlic for our dinner, then will watch tv true blood and Hawaii 50. Then off to bed as I have to be up early in the morning got to go to work need to be up 6.30 start work 7.30. Hate getting up early.

My life

I have had quite a good week Wednesday I took Joe to see Justin bieber never say never as he is a big fan. Well the film was quite good and interesting and social networking has a lot to answer for. Thursday went to Stevenage in the morning, then went to mums for lunch dropped Elise off at the airport then went to work at 2 30 came home 9 30 and had fried chicken from morrisons. Got the weekend off work played my new game mafia2 now watching nannie McPhee
